Welcome to the FacultyFocus newsletter featuring specially selected information for your needs as AOTrauma Faculty members.

 

In January 2018, a revised version of the AO/OTA Fracture Classification has been released. Learn about the resources prepared by AO for Faculty and participants to help them familiarize quickly with the changes and additions in the AO/OTA Fracture Classification.

 

The AOTEC has approved a number of changes to the AOT Basic Principles course and the AOT Advanced Principles course including the revision of several practical exercises with new videos and instrumentation. All changes are ready for implementation and should be included in all Basic and Advanced Principles courses from October 2018.

 

As AOTrauma Faculty you put a lot of effort into supporting course and seminar participants to achieve the desired learning outcomes. In this issue, we provide you with 10 tips on how to promote reflection. Reflection is a key element in the learning process and an important driver of professional development. Reflection is one of the most powerful tools in causing changes in attitude, one of the learning domains.

 

The AO Foundation is a member of the Swiss Local Organization Committee of the AMEE annual conference in Basel. Our article informs you about the activities of the AO Education Institute and AO surgeon Faculty at this key event in healthcare education.

 

Last but not least, we would like to inform you that the online application for AOTrauma clinical fellowships in 2019 will be open until July 13, 2018.
