AO Surgery Reference relaunched with improved navigation

AO Surgery Reference is the number one resource that helps surgeon’s improve patient care daily. It’s now easier to find your procedure with the new and improved interface.

The AO’s premier offering for medical professionals, AO Surgery Reference, has been updated. It is now more responsive and easier to use. The search functionality has been improved and offers users greater opportunities to narrow their search by selecting specialty, module, or content type.

Thank you to all faculty involved in AO Surgery Reference. Your expertise and tireless efforts ensure the content’s high quality, and that AO Surgery Reference remains the number one resource for surgeons globally.

Among the features of the updated AO Surgery Reference:

  • Being ‘responsive’ means the content adapts to fits the user’s screen size, including the famous skeleton navigation.
  • A new search tool narrows the results down to specialty, module, and content type (see image 2). This means easy access to specific approaches or preparations via the search tool.
  • No more getting lost between the four steps: approach, preparation, redfix, and aftercare. All steps are now contained on one page.
  • Additional vet content (see image 3).
  • Additional material on the diagnosis and indication pages is now prominently placed at the top.
  • Larger images enhance the user experience when looking at procedures, and we are currently working on a new feature to give you even larger illustrations than before, to download for your presentations.
