Welcome

FacultyFocus 1 | 2020

Editorial

In our first FacultyFocus of 2020, we share the intrepid experience of our 2019 Germán Ochoa Traveling Fellowship winner Mohamed Abdel-Wanis from Egypt, and the latest news from AO Spine North America’s research publications.

Welcome to the latest edition of FacultyFocus.

The Germán Ochoa Traveling Fellowship has been running now for five years and the past winners have all fully embraced the ethos of the award, traveling far and wide to spread the word about AO Spine. In this edition, you can read about the trip to Kenya undertaken by 2019 Germán Ochoa Fellowship recipient Mohamed Abdel-Wanis.

We also share with you the latest Focus Issue on Spinal Infections from AO Spine North America and provide you with more information about myAO.

Furthermore, we thank you for your participation in the recent AO Opportunity, Diversity and Inclusion Initiative (ODII) survey. The ODII working group appreciates the time and energy you have invested in completing the survey for the AO and ensures that members’ collective feedback will shape the AO’s future.

We hope you will enjoy this edition of FacultyFocus.

With best wishes,

Bryan Ashman
