In uncertain times, AO CMF steps up its offering

The COVID-19 outbreak has disrupted daily life for millions of people worldwide, including you, our distinguished faculty members who have been forced to battle the pandemic on the frontlines all around the world, often at the expense of your own safety.  

AO CMF has been forced to cancel courses in areas most affected by the virus. However, we recognize the craniomaxillofacial (CMF) community’s need for access to continuing education even in these uncertain times. That's why—as early as April, when the extent of the pandemic started to become evident to us—we began developing a number of online learning packages as part of our new AO CMF Online Campus initiative. We can't wait to introduce you to this exciting new platform and get you involved as online presenters and moderators.

In this newsletter, we will also share the preliminary COVID-19 Survey Results (pdf). We have the answers—hot off the press—from over 500 surgeons from the global AO CMF community.

Additionally, AO CMF in April successfully launched the new From the Frontline webinar series focusing on topics related to COVID-19. This format will evolve to become a series similar to a news program, with moderators and experts tackling topics of general interest to the surgeon community on a bimonthly basis. The latest AO CMF-hosted From the Frontline session focused on stress management and in grief in times of crisis, a popular session that provided a taste of what's to come in the next few months.
