AO VET’s COVID-19 response keeps community engaged

As the COVID-19 prompted lockdowns around the world in order to protect public health, AO VET’s agile response is keeping the veterinary orthopedics community engaged with new digital educational opportunities.

While the necessary lockdown measures forced the cancellation of face-to-face courses, AO VET ramped up its online educational activities—on an almost weekly basis and including events in local languages such as Spanish and Portuguese reaching hundreds of participants per event. Prominent examples are our AO North America Columbus courses. Most of its content has been converted into series of webinars.

AO VET’s stand-alone webinars are offered free of charge, and recordings of these live events are available afterward to paying members. To keep pace with veterinarians’ need for world-class education—even in the face of crisis—AO VET plans to continue moving forward with online learning opportunities. To stay up-to-date on new events as they are announced, be sure to follow AO VET on Facebook or check the course/event finder, and get in touch at tobias.hoevekamp@aovet.org if you are interested in hosting a webinar.

At the same time, AO VET encourages you to share your most memorable online educational activities. AO VET is always interested in learning from faculty members’ experiences: What educational activities have you taken part in since the COVID-19 lockdown began? Have you encountered any topics that AO VET should be offering? Share you experiences and insights with us by emailing them to tobias.hovekamp@aovet.org.
