Welcome

Editorial

Welcome to the third 2021 edition of FacultyFocus, bringing you the latest news from AO Spine and across the AO.

Dear colleagues,

In this edition, we introduce the new AO Spine Adult Spinal Deformity (ASD) Patient profile, a tool aimed at optimizing the treatment of this complex spectrum of diseases.

Additionally, with summer mostly behind us, we all look forward to the AO Davos Courses 2021, scheduled for November 28–December 10; with an asynchronous part which begins November 7. You can read about the AO’s flagship annual event in greater detail in this FacultyFocus.

This FacultyFocus also brings you news about new educational research publications available from our clinical divisions and the AO Education institute, as well as the all-new AO Access podcast, the pilot AO Access Mentoring Program, and our 10 tips on supporting education during disrupted times.

We hope you will enjoy this edition of FacultyFocus. As always, we value your feedback and ideas for future content, so do not hesitate to get in touch at ginesa.aviles@aofoundation.org.

With best wishes,

Emre Acaroglu
Chairperson, AO Spine Education Commission
