Welcome to this new edition of our faculty newsletter, FacultyFocus.

FacultyFocus provides a platform for relevant, need-to-know information, which has been specially selected for AOTrauma faculty. Here you will find news that will connect you to the latest in AOTrauma Education, as well as information to help you in further developing your faculty skills.

In this issue, I will share with you AOTEC’s vision to remaining the global leader in trauma and orthopedic education, and the steps we are taking to reach this goal. I will highlight our new fellowship system, and the efforts we are making to further develop our faculty and course offerings.

In this issue we will also update you on the results of last years' AOTrauma faculty survey. These results show us what motivates surgeons like you from all around the world to volunteer as faculty members for our organization.

One of these motives is the desire to gain knowledge in order to improve clinical practice. The new AOTrauma Case Library that we showcase in this edition enables you to do exactly that: You, as an AOTrauma faculty member can add your own cases to this growing case collection, get feedback, and simultaneously learn from the cases of your peers.

Another learning tool we feature in this issue is the 10 Tips for Lecturers that will help you take your lecturing skills to the next level. For those interested not just in lecturing at face-to-face events but also virtually we give you a behind-the-scenes look at what it is like to present AO webinars. In addition, this issue introduces you to the new e-learning module on Conflict of Interest that all faculty members will be required to complete in the future.

FacultyFocus also presents a new book publication, explaining the barriers, needs, and preferences for community hospital surgeons around the globe with regard to Continuing Professional Development.

In closing, we highlight activities from our various regions.

We hope that you’ll enjoy reading this edition of FacultyFocus. As always, we welcome your feedback to the following address: mredies@aotrauma.org
