AO/OTA Fracture and Dislocation Classification Compendium—2018 Update
In 1996, the AO Foundation and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association published the AO/OTA Fracture and Dislocation Classification Compendium based on the principles and definitions presented in the Comprehensive Classification of Fractures by Müller, Nazarian, Koch, and Schatzker, as a supplement in the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma. To maintain its relevance, both organizations review the compendium every 10 years. Read more

Hospital-based education for Operating Room Personnel increases steadily
AOTrauma ORP started with hospital-based education in 2015. A pilot of the Clinical Training Modules for ORP was held this year in Belgium using the opportunity to introduce additional AOT ORP faculty to this format of education. Read more

Updates to the AOTrauma Basic Principles of Fracture Managements course framework
The templated AOTrauma Basic Principles of Fracture Management course has been successfully running for about five years now. During this time, the Residents Education Task Force (ETF) has collected evaluation and assessment data, along with feedback on the course by participants, faculty, and chairpersons. An analysis of this data led the Residents ETF to propose an update to the course framework. Read more

AO Education Institute attends 4th International Conference on Faculty Development in the Health Professions
