AO CMF case discussion group on Facebook now offers mentorship for members

Direct, online peer-to-peer mentoring is no longer only wishful thinking. Last month, the exciting new feature was launched on the AO CMF case discussion group, much to the delight of both members and faculty.

New registries started on mandibular fractures in the elderly population, TMJ replacement, and orbit fractures

For the last few years, AO CMF Research and Development (R&D) has focused on the two research-prioritized areas: clinical outcomes and bone defects/bone healing. AO CMF is collaborating with AO Clinical Investigation and Documentation (AO CID), which helps to set up clinical studies and registries. At each R&D Commission meeting, a dedicated AO CID representative is present and collects the surgeons’ inputs on clinical issues and needed patient treatment improvements.

Global Education update: Get ready, get set, go for 2020 with AO CMF courses, events, webinars and ON AIR live broadcasts

Incredibly, AO CMF will educate over 6,000 surgeons in 50 countries around the world in 2020.

10 tips to enhance your online teaching

The AO recognizes that online teaching requires competencies that differ from face-to-face teaching competencies. For example, the defined program schedule and time frame are more flexible for online education than for face-to-face teaching, requiring you and your learners to proactively self-direct the learning process.
